Abstract:

Curricular updates are nowadays an indispensable factor for high quality accreditation processes in engineering programs and involve the design of strategies to ensure the correct implementation of the defined models. The Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia has been implementing a curricular reform of all its programs since 2010 and in the defined educational model, it is considered as a main component the design of study plans with the competences approach. One of the crucial aspects to guarantee the success in the implementation of the reform is to have relevant instruments for the evaluation of the competences. This article shows the design of instruments for the evaluation of evidence of competencies in the programs of the Faculty of Engineering of the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia making use of the SOLO taxonomy (Structure of Observed Learning Outcome) of Biggs and Collis.
