Abstract:

The elements considered as a result of the scientific research are called scientific production, there are scientific and technical articles published in The Scientific Data Base. In this sense, a public university study was made in order to typify the scientific production in “Tecnológico Nacional de México” formed by 266 campuses. The problem of the research was the deficiency of analysis of the scientific production generated by the “Tecnológico Nacional de Mexico” through all the campuses that define it. Therefore, the purpose of the study was to build up bibliometric indicators to describe the scientific production: scientific articles, review articles and letters to the editor included in the Science Citation Index. The research questions were: a) which are the features of the scientific production in the higher education system? b) Which are the fields of investigation in the higher education system? y c) Which are the main journals that release the scientific production in the higher education system?
