Abstract:

Artisanal fishing is one of the oldest and most important activities in Peru. Currently the fishing regulations do not contemplate an appropriate categorization to the physical characteristics presented by these vessels. In the article a new approach for the categorization of boats is proposed crafts in Peru considering the data published on the page of the Ministry of Production, which from a filtering has a total of 6056 records, giving a categorization in 4 groups (SHOE, CHALANA, BOOT and LANCHA).
