Abstract: The article presents a contextual research about global socioeconomic trends up to the year 2040 and its relation with the demand for Power Transformers. It is necessary to define the best market for transformer’s manufacturers and their components installed in Mexico. The general methodology for the literary revision is described, as well as the general aspects of the transformer such as standards, prices, raw materials, manufacturing processes and suppliers. A report about the global scenario of energy sources is also included. This report is fundamental for managerial decision-making in the suppliermanufacturer-client chain. In a future publication, the critical raw materials of the transformer will be presented.
