Abstract:

Waste electrical and electronic equipment is a problem that begins to gain momentum, boosted mainly by technological progress and the trend of society to consumerism. This represents a new opportunity for economic development for those who are able to manage and recycle them, but these potentialities are often wasted. Given the high toxicity of some of them are classified as hazardous waste, however, this waste is removed to common landfills and treated inappropriately causing severe damage to health and the environment. The present work approaches an approach to the impact of this practice on the health of man and the environment.
