Abstract:

The IDF curves consider the stationary climate, contrary to climate change. In Peru, the recurrent presence of El Niño, statistically shows changes in climate. We propose to update existing curves including recent events and appropriately cut the series to work with the most recent and reflect the current climate trend. As a case study, new IDF curves were elaborated for Piura, averaging Log-Normal 3p and Doble Gumbel models, and a general equation.
