Abstract:

This research seeks to optimize the usage of the available water resources in the town of Portachuelos, Ica. Ica has several drought seasons which hinders and in some cases makes impossible the irrigation of several crop fields, causing a negative impact in the economy of the local families who counts on agriculture for a living. On top of that, the usual irrigation system in the town wastes too much water that could be put to good use during the drought seasons. We plan to design a drip irrigation system that will optimize the consumption of water per crop field
