| The “evaluation system for statics course SIEVAL” project
was conceived with the purpose of implement a pedagogic support
based on information technologies that complements the statics courses’
teachers labor of the engineering school of EAFIT university, with the
goal of reduce the defection index of students and increase the number
of people who finished the course with sufficiency over the topics. This
article shows a significant reduction in the number of students that leaves
the course and an increase on people

| El proyecto “sistema de evaluación de la materia estática
SIEVAL” se concibió con el propósito de implementar un apoyo pedagógico
basado en tecnologías de la información, que complemente la labor
de los docentes de la asignatura estática de la escuela de ingeniería de la
universidad EAFIT, con la meta de reducir el índice de deserción de los
estudiante y aumentar la cantidad personas que culminan con suficiencia
la materia. En el presente artículo se muestra una disminución apreciable
en el número de estudiantes que desertan del curso de estática y un
incremento en el número de personas que aprueban la asignatura en el
periodo en que se ha utilizado esta herramienta.
