Abstract

Currently there are still regions in various parts of the world still lack access to communications services and broadband is no exception Mexico. One of the reasons that this situation arises due to the geographical characteristics. Our interest is to study and characterize different technological alternatives regions to develop optimal models based on the geographical particularities of each rural area, to help make decisions about coverage of these areas difficult to access and provide an alternative technology. Here is information on wireless technologies used in rural areas, some implementations in other countries that serve as reference, and a proposal to give broadband service to rural areas in the state of Jalisco, which serve to define a model future work.
