Abstract

The objective of this research was to design a SCADA system for remote programming of Simatic S7-300 PLC and implementation of virtual laboratory practices through Internet, from the internal network UNEXPO Puerto Ordaz. The fundamental basis for conducting the research was the growing number of students in different subjects in the control area of electrical engineering which is aimed to develop a mechanism for laboratory practice without requiring the presence of students in the facilities where teams are in control. The research is experimental field, since the automaton run is located at the Center for Automation and Control Department of Electrical Engineering and projective since developed a design proposal to solve a problem from a prior process of inquiry. This resulted in a virtual four practices in mathematics and Industrial Measurements, Industrial Instrumentation, Control Theory and Programmable Logic Controllers by which it was demonstrated the feasibility of migrating to a new philosophy of teaching using technology tools to access current limited resources in time and space.
