Paper Title: 

Power Management for Lifetime Extension in Wireless Ad-Hoc network 

Abstract: 

This paper presents a modified AODV algorithm for extending lifetime of the whole sensor networks. In sensor networks, the survival of the whole network request that every node is active and can send/receive information. In the other words, power of the nodes has to be balance among the whole network by the routing algorithm. So the management of power can keep all nodes in active as long as possible. The algorithm uses traditional AODV routing algorithm and add power threshold function to the broadcast RREQ (routing request). By this function the network can make those low power nodes keep silent when the source broadcast RREQ to find a path to the destination and save their power. Compared with power aware routing algorithm for Ad-hoc network, this modified AODV algorithm is simpler and easier to be implemented and save more nodes' lifetime when the information message length is at the same level with the routing broadcast packet length.
